Week 8: Land Acknowledgements and Acts of Kindness

This will be the last week of these for the trip! I will continue to do land acknowledgements if I leave Winter Haven and will always be on the lookout for Acts of Kindness! Feel free to send me any that YOU see or DO!!!

Land Acknowledgements:

I'm going to properly write all out that I lumped together last week :)

Albuquerque, New Mexico - land of the Pueblos

Memphis, Texas - land of the Kiowa and Comanche

Forney, Texas - land of the Kickapoo, Jumanos, Tawakoni, and Wichita

Baton Rouge, Louisiana - land of the Choctaw and Houma

Quincy, Florida - land of the Muscogee / Creek

Winter Haven, Florida - land of the Seminole and Tocobaga

Acts of Kindness:

- woman at the front desk of the Budget Inn appreciated me taking pics of the damage in the room

- woman at the front desk of the Quality Inn was SO nice when I left in the morning.

- the Dairy Queen attendant was super nice when she presented my food

- Mom and Dad's neighbor, Harold, stopped to welcome me home during his bike ride!

- Mom understanding my vagueness and lies in order to pull of the Thanksgiving surprise :)
