Oh friends. It's been a week. What I've learned in the last 7 days is that I've done a good job managing work with adventure time. But I have not yet learned how to manage work with adventure time and RESTing in a financially responsible way. I'm tired. And when I need a day off, it's uncomfortable to spend that day in your car. Ways to grow!
I had a good day at Great Sand Dunes National Park. I was very excited to rent my sled and sled down some sand. But I'm not gonna lie, walking the 1/2 mile in the sand just to get to the dunes was more challenging than I expected. And then of course you have to go UP a dune in order to sled down it... but sledding down a sand dune was very fun!
The next day, I headed to Mesa Verde National Park. It's a 20 mile drive to the top of the park where most of the views and hikes are. It is a STUNNING drive and I was on the way down at sunset - see pic attached. It was so deeply beautiful.
And then I took a day off. I did my normal morning and evening work, but most of the day I just rested. Watched some tv that I'm catching up on... it was really nice. I felt so good the following morning. Like I had a true day of rest. Rest is just as important as taking the time to see the world and do the work. It's actually maybe the most important part.
So I'm making some changes. Changing the plan. Changing the course. And prepping for the holidays ahead. As Covid numbers continue to get worse, I wish you all peace and light this week. Take the time to rest. Take the time to give thanks. I hope you are all safe and healthy. Have a very Happy Thanksgiving.
